SINGERS NIGHT       (What’s a singers’ night?)                     Entrance £2

24 February 2010
Paul Cherrington and Pamela Ward
Entrance £7
With a mixture of music from traditional and contemporary folk to ragtime and blues, this duo have been featured session artists with recordings at Pebble Mill for late night shows on BBC Radio 2 and toured extensively throughout the U.K. and also abroad.
Pam’s versatile, mature and melodic voice is equally suited to pure and haunting traditional songs as it is to the more gutsy blues style of Bessie Smith - Paul's accomplished guitar playing acts as the perfect foil to Pam's voice whilst never detracting from the vocals.

All in the audience can expect to be delighted, amused, moved and inspired, but most importantly entertained by this dynamic duo, who present an impressive and professional performance whilst so obviously enjoying themselves.

Tich Frier
Entrance £7
Well known for the voice, the driving guitar and the wicked sense of fun, more than forty years on the road have brought a richness to the voice and a dryness to the humour which wins any audience.

Tich has worked regularly on TV and radio - tracks from his albums have received airplay on national and local radio stations and appeared many times at the world famous Edinburgh Festival Fringe as well as performing in Folk Clubs throughout the UK and many tours abroad.

His repertoire can best be described as eclectic.   It ranges through traditional and modern Scottish songs, Burns, his own compositions, hilarious parodies and music hall songs to contemporary classics all linked together with his inventive off the cuff stories.  Lead singer for a skiffle group for many years, and playing guitar in ceilidh bands, Tich is also one of the country's finest solo performers.
